For Children (17–22 kg)
- One tablet daily (100 mg Emtricitabine + 150 mg Tenofovir)
To Prevent HIV Infection (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis)
- Adults and children weighing 35 kg or more can consume one Ricovir EM tablet daily, which contains 200 mg of emtricitabine and 300 mg of tenofovir
- Children weighing less than 35 kg should contact a doctor before taking Ricovir Em for PrEP
How to Take Ricovir EM Tablets
- Take the medication orally
- No need to crush or chew this medication, swallow the tablet with water.
- Can be taken with or without food
- If it upsets your stomach, take it with a meal
- To ensure maximum effectiveness, take each dose exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
Missed Dose
- Take the missed dose as soon as you can remember it
- If your next dose is approaching, skip the missed one and continue with your regular dosage schedule
