Briganix Dosage
How it works
Briganix (Brigatinib) is a medication used to treat adult patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that is ALK-positive. It is typically prescribed for patients whose disease has progressed on or after treatment with crizotinib.
Briganix is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) that targets the anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) protein. By inhibiting this protein, Briganix helps to slow down or stop the growth of cancer cells that depend on ALK for survival and proliferation.
The recommended starting dosage of this medicine is taken once daily. Depending on the patient's tolerance and response to the medication, the healthcare provider may adjust the dose.
Common side effects include nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, headache, and elevated liver enzymes. Patients should report any severe or persistent side effects to their healthcare provider.
If you miss a dose of Briganix, take it as soon as you remember on the same day. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule. Do not take two doses at once.
Regular follow-up appointments are essential while taking Briganix. Your healthcare provider will monitor your response to the medication, manage any side effects, and perform necessary tests, such as liver function tests or imaging studies, as needed.
