Emgrast M 500mcg Injection is a medication containing Filgrastim, a recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF). It is used to stimulate the production of white blood cells, specifically neutrophils, in the body. This is particularly important for patients undergoing chemotherapy or bone marrow transplantation, as these treatments can significantly reduce white blood cell counts, increasing the risk of infection. By boosting neutrophil levels, Emgrast M helps to reduce the duration of neutropenia (low neutrophil count) and the incidence of febrile neutropenia. It is administered via subcutaneous or intravenous injection. Common side effects may include bone pain, fever, nausea, and fatigue.
