Mytera 250mg Tablet is a prescription medication containing the active ingredient Teriflunomide. Teriflunomide is an immunomodulatory drug that works by inhibiting dihydroorotate dehydrogenase, an enzyme crucial for the proliferation of activated lymphocytes. By reducing the number of activated T and B cells, Mytera helps to decrease inflammation and nerve damage associated with certain autoimmune conditions. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS) in adults. This includes clinically isolated syndrome, relapsing-remitting MS, and active secondary progressive MS. The typical starting dose is 7mg once daily, which may be increased to 14mg once daily based on clinical response and tolerability. It is important to take Mytera exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Common side effects may include hair thinning, diarrhea, nausea, and tingling sensations.
