Palonoget 0.25 mg Injection

Injection de Palonoget 0.25 mg is a sterile solution containing Palonosetron, a potent and selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonist. It is primarily used for the prevention of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) and postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). Palonosetron works by blocking the action of serotonin, a natural substance that can trigger nausea and vomiting, particularly in response to certain medical treatments or surgical procedures. By inhibiting serotonin’s effect on the 5-HT3 receptors in the gut and brain, it effectively reduces the urge to vomit. This medication is administered intravenously by a healthcare professional. The typical dosage for CINV is 0.75 mg administered as a single intravenous infusion over 15 minutes, approximately 30 minutes before the start of chemotherapy. For PONV, the recommended dose is 0.075 mg as a single intravenous infusion over 15 minutes, given before induction of anesthesia. Common side effects may include headache, constipation, and fatigue.
