Description

Pivikto 200 mg contains selpercatinib 200 mg, made by Everest Pharmaceuticals. Selpercatinib is a kinase inhibitor that blocks RET, a protein that drives the growth of some cancers when it is altered.

Selpercatinib is approved for cancers with a RET gene fusion or mutation, including non-small cell lung cancer and certain thyroid cancers. A test on the tumour confirms the RET change before treatment starts.

It is a prescription-only medicine. The dose is set by the treating oncologist and depends on body weight and other medicines taken. Common side effects include high blood pressure, raised liver enzymes, dry mouth, diarrhoea and tiredness; blood pressure, liver tests and heart rhythm (ECG) are checked during treatment. Take it exactly as prescribed and tell your doctor about all other medicines you use.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat, and out of reach of children.
