Description

Priunta 440 mg Injection contains trastuzumab 440 mg, made by Abbott. Trastuzumab is a monoclonal antibody that attaches to the HER2 protein on some cancer cells and stops it from driving their growth.

It is used for HER2-positive breast cancer and HER2-positive metastatic gastric or gastro-oesophageal junction adenocarcinoma. A test on the tumour confirms HER2 status before treatment.

It is a prescription-only medicine given by infusion under the supervision of an oncologist, who sets the dose and schedule. Common side effects include infusion reactions, fever, chills, tiredness, nausea, diarrhoea and headache; heart function is checked before and during treatment.

Store in a refrigerator (2-8 °C), do not freeze, and keep out of reach of children.
