Aziderm 10% Cream is a topical medication primarily used for the treatment of acne vulgaris. Its active ingredient is Azelaic Acid, a dicarboxylic acid that possesses antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and keratolytic properties. Azelaic acid works by reducing the growth of bacteria that contribute to acne, such as Propionibacterium acnes. It also helps to unclog pores by normalizing the keratinization process, preventing the formation of comedones (blackheads and whiteheads). Furthermore, its anti-inflammatory action helps to reduce redness and swelling associated with acne lesions.
Aziderm 10% Cream is indicated for mild to moderate acne. It is typically applied to the affected areas of the skin once or twice daily, as directed by a healthcare professional. Before application, the skin should be cleansed and dried. A thin layer of the cream should be gently rubbed into the skin. Common side effects may include mild itching, burning, stinging, redness, and dryness at the application site. These are usually temporary and subside as the skin adjusts to the medication. It is important to avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes. Store the cream at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat.
