Emtricitabine and Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate are two active ingredients combined in a single medication used to treat and prevent HIV-1 infection. This combination is part of standard antiretroviral therapy (ART) and is highly effective when taken correctly and consistently. How it Works:
Both Emtricitabine and Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate are nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) that prevent HIV from replicating.
