Introduction to Dimethyl Fumarate
Tegafur and Uracil are used together as a chemotherapy treatment for certain cancers, particularly colorectal cancer.
How it Works:
- Tegafur: A prodrug of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), which disrupts DNA synthesis in cancer cells.
- Uracil: Enhances the activity of Tegafur by inhibiting its breakdown, increasing the concentration of 5-FU in the body.
Uses:
Treatment of colorectal cancer.
