Introduction to Tenecteplase
Tenecteplase is a thrombolytic agent used to dissolve blood clots in patients experiencing an acute myocardial infarction (heart attack). It is a tissue plasminogen activator (tPA).
How it Works:
Tenecteplase binds to fibrin and activates plasminogen, leading to the breakdown of blood clots.
Uses:
Emergency treatment of heart attacks.

Approved by the FDA in 2000 under the brand name TNKase.
