Introduction to Vildagliptin :
Vildagliptin is an oral hypoglycemic drug used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It belongs to the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor class. Vildagliptin inhibits DPP-4, which increases the levels of incretin hormones. These hormones stimulate insulin release and decrease glucagon levels, helping to lower blood sugar.
This drug is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
